Zero Waste Operations — Agricultural By-Product ValorisationMy Project

Project Category: Circular Economy / Biomass Energy / Sustainable Manufacturing Location: Kano State, Nigeria Project Status: Planned Development Project Description: Zero Waste Operations is a planned initiative focused on converting groundnut husks and other suitable agricultural processing residues into valuable secondary products, supporting a more resource-efficient and commercially sustainable agricultural value chain. The initiative aims to develop deforestation-free biomass charcoal briquettes as an alternative solid fuel product, while exploring additional applications for agricultural by-products. By creating value from materials that might otherwise be discarded or underutilised, the initiative seeks to support waste reduction, resource efficiency and circular-economy development. Designed to complement the planned groundnut processing facility in Kano State, Zero Waste Operations forms part of Golden Aroma Biopower Limited's broader vision of integrating agricultural processing with responsible by-product utilisation. Project Objectives: Convert suitable agricultural residues into commercially useful products. Develop biomass briquettes using groundnut husks and other appropriate feedstocks. Reduce the disposal and underutilisation of agricultural by-products. Explore sustainable fuel alternatives that reduce reliance on wood-derived charcoal. Support circular-economy practices and long-term resource efficiency. The initiative is under development. Production capacity, commercial operations and environmental performance will be confirmed as the project progresses. Nov–Dec 2026 Phase 1 — Feasibility and planning Confirm groundnut-husk availability, product specifications, target customers, proposed site and preliminary equipment requirements. Jan–Mar 2027 Phase 2 — Procurement and approvals Finalise the business model, obtain equipment quotations, confirm funding and establish the necessary corporate and environmental compliance pathway. Apr–Jun 2027 Phase 3 — Installation and preparation Prepare the site, install equipment, arrange feedstock handling and storage, and test the production process. July–Aug 2027 Phase 4 — Commissioning and pilot launch Conduct trial production, test briquette quality, verify operating costs and begin commercial sales if the required approvals and quality checks are satisfied.
